At the longest pear blossom road in Viet Nam, recognized by the Guinness World Records, visitors are captivated by the vibrant colors of brocade fabrics.
The 2025 Beautiful Brocade Embroidery Contest, organized by the Na Hang District Women’s Union, attracted 12 teams from 12 communes and townships. The contestants are skilled and experienced women in embroidery.
Manual-embroidered products are displayed like works of art, ranging from handkerchiefs and handbags to traditional garments. Each piece not only holds aesthetic value but also reflects creativity and dedicated craftsmanship.
Mrs. Ban Thi Thu, from Khau Trang village, Hong Thai Commune, said that the “Dao Tiền” people typically embroider on the reverse side of the fabric to create sharp patterns, requiring meticulous skill.
For the Red Dao people, women carefully combine colors, with red remaining the dominant hue. Mrs. Nog Thi Tong, from Lung Khieng village, Sinh Long Commune, said that for the Red Dao, wearing traditional attire is not only a source of pride but also carries spiritual significance.
Patterns may include stars, leaves, or rhombuses, but they all follow a structured design that reflects the worldview, philosophy, and aesthetic sense of the Dao people.
Their confident eyes and skillful hands seem to express their love and passion for the art of brocade embroidery.
Many visitors are fascinated by the ethnic brocade garments worn by the locals.
The images of meticulous hands threading needles and guiding threads bring lively patterns to life on the fabric. Each product is not just an item of use but also a story, a legend told through every embroidered motif.
