An overview of the working session
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thu, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, expressed his sincere thanks to the Signify Foundation, Signify Vietnam and ASSIST/Philippines for their support in implementing the “Lighting Gifts” project in the province. To date, around 800 lighting sets have been installed at 34 sites across 15 communes, illuminating more than 100 km of rural roads. The project can be described as a highly meaningful and practical initiative for local residents.
Tuyen Quang expressed its hope that the Deputy Ambassador, as well as Dutch businesses, would further strengthen cooperation and investment in areas of mutual interest, including education, clean water, infrastructure, improving local living conditions, climate change and sustainable agricultural water management. The province also called for stronger cooperation in green and digital transformation and sustainable development, as well as greater application of science and technology and promotion of innovation.
Mr. Hendrik Jan Rick Slettenhaar, Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam, emphasised the importance of the visit, saying that it would help further strengthen the long-standing and fruitful relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands in general, and between Tuyen Quang and the Dutch Embassy in particular. He said that in the coming period, he, the Signify Foundation, Signify Vietnam and ASSIST/Philippines would continue to undertake practical initiatives to promote cooperation between Tuyen Quang and Dutch partners.
