Woodland's workers are at work
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, industrial output grew at an average of 14.9% per year, surpassing the target set by the Party Resolution. Export value rose by 10.5% annually, also exceeding expectations. Officials attribute these gains to proactive policies, effective implementation of the 2021-2030 provincial master plan, and timely development of energy and industrial infrastructure.
Between 2020 and 2025, Tuyen Quang established 16 industrial clusters covering more than 780 hectares, with total registered investment of VND 8.9 trillion (USD 350 million). Occupancy rates reached around 57%, with 32 projects already operational. A notable example is the newly established Xuan Van Industrial Cluster, which covers 50 hectares and is being developed with modern transport, utilities, and supporting services. Its key industries include agro-processing, biomass energy, textiles, leather, and wood products.
Foreign investors have been quick to seize opportunities. Japan’s Erex Corporation, for instance, has put a wood pellet plant into operation in early 2025 and is advancing plans for a biomass power plant and fuel facility at Long Binh An Industrial Park.
Alongside industrial clusters, Tuyen Quang has accelerated renewable energy projects. Thirteen hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 209.5 MW have recently gone into operation, and several more are under construction. In total, 51 hydropower plants and one biomass plant are supplying over 4.8 billion kWh annually to the national grid, contributing VND 4.5 trillion (USD 178 million) to provincial industrial output and VND 1 trillion (USD 40 million) to the state budget each year.
Administrative reforms have been another cornerstone of Tuyen Quang’s progress. The province has streamlined investment procedures, with 100% of enterprise registrations processed online and results delivered through public postal services. This has enhanced transparency and efficiency, making the province an increasingly attractive destination for major corporations including VinGroup, Danko, Korea’s KIDO, and Japan’s JPE Engineering Corporation.
Business leaders highlight the favorable environment. Yoon Bae, General Director of JW Agro-Processing Plant at Phuc Ung Industrial Cluster, said: “Transportation is smooth, the workforce is strong, and procedures are now handled quickly online. It has made investing here very convenient.”
In the phase of 2025-2030, Tuyen Quang aims for annual industrial output growth above 8% and export growth averaging 15.9%. The province plans to establish at least one smart industrial cluster while prioritizing sectors such as wood processing, mechanical engineering, electronics, and renewable energy. Importantly, leaders have stressed that economic growth will not come at the expense of the environment, with preference given to large-scale, green, and technologically advanced projects.
By aligning rapid industrial expansion with environmental responsibility, Tuyen Quang is positioning itself as a rising industrial hub in northern Vietnam—an investment destination that promises both opportunity and sustainability.
