Agriculture and Forestry Embrace Sustainability and Technology
Tuyen Quang is moving towards sustainable agriculture by expanding the use of certified and high-standard cultivation. As of May 2025, the province had over 3,903 hectares of fruit and industrial crops grown under VietGAP and organic standards, including key exports like oranges, tea, and grapefruit. A total of 31 growing area codes have been issued (14 for export, 17 for domestic markets), along with 2 export-oriented packaging facility codes - paving the way for greater global market access.
In forestry, the province has planted over 6,020 hectares of new forests, reaching nearly 40% of the annual plan. Timber harvested from planted forests reached 526,878 cubic meters, a 14% year-on-year increase. Tuyen Quang maintains round-the-clock readiness for forest fire prevention and natural disaster response, and is finalizing a master plan to transform the province into a high-tech forestry hub and a center for timber processing, following Government Office Directive No. 3065/VPCP-NN.
Aquaculture and Industry See Notable Gains
Aquaculture production rose sharply, with 5,125 tons harvested in the first five months—up 30.4% compared to the same period in 2024.
Industrial output reached approximately VND 11.3 trillion (~USD 451.9 million), up 21.2% year-on-year, accounting for over 40% of the yearly target. Key industrial products such as commercial electricity, refined sugar, and barite powder reported solid growth.
Tourism Rebounds, Export Sector Surges
Tourism showed positive recovery signs, with 1.64 million visitors in the first five months, meeting 54.7% of the annual target and up 4.8% year-on-year. Total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 2.37 trillion (~USD 94.9 million), a 25.8% increase.
While total retail sales reached VND 14.24 trillion (~USD 569.7 million) (slightly down year-on-year), exports were a bright spot, with total export turnover reaching USD 81.8 million, up 69.5%.

Investment Climate Improves, New Enterprises on the Rise
Tuyen Quang issued investment certificates for 11 projects with total capital of VND 6.26 trillion (~USD 250.4 million), including 2 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth over VND 3.4 trillion (~USD 136 million).
The province saw 136 new business registrations—up 5% in quantity—although total registered capital decreased to VND 411.6 billion (~USD 16.5 million). The total number of registered enterprises has now reached 2,954, with a combined capital exceeding VND 37.65 trillion (~USD 1.506 billion). Six new cooperatives were also established with VND 2.41 trillion (~USD 96.6 million) in registered capital.
Infrastructure Development and Administrative Reforms Accelerated
Tuyen Quang is prioritizing infrastructure development, pushing forward with key projects such as the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang Expressway, new roads connecting major tourist areas, and a new provincial general hospital. The province is also implementing climate-resilient infrastructure projects to support ethnic minority communities.
In parallel, administrative reforms are being accelerated under the Government’s Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP. The province continues to enhance its e-government system, now offering 1,899 administrative procedures online via its provincial information portal.
The achievements of Tuyen Quang in early 2025 reflect the results of focused governance, innovative policymaking, and determined local leadership. With a continued emphasis on sustainable development, modernization, and inclusive growth, the province is positioning itself as a dynamic economic hub in Vietnam’s northern region.
