Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh delivers his speech at the meeting
The 6th Annual Conference between the Party Secretaries of the Vietnamese provinces and the Party Secretary of Yunnan serves as a crucial cooperative mechanism. It translates the high-level common perceptions of the leaders of the two Parties and States into concrete actions, while fostering solidarity, political trust, and substantive cooperation between the local authorities. Over the past years, partnership between Tuyen Quang and Yunnan has yielded significant outcomes across all sectors. Tuyen Quang aims to work alongside Yunnan to further deepen friendly relations and promote substantive development grounded in equality, trust, and mutual benefit.
Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh proposed that both sides prioritize investment in upgrading transportation infrastructure connecting checkpoints, openings, and border markets, with a particular focus on expressways leading to the Thanh Thuy - Tianbao Border Gate. He called for accelerating cross-border transport projects and expanding passenger and freight routes to further facilitate trade, investment, and tourism. Highlighting Tuyen Quang's extensive potential in agriculture, forestry, processing industries, and tourism, he urged both sides to expand economic, trade, and investment ties. This includes enhancing business matching, securing stable market access in China for Tuyen Quang's key agricultural products and goods, and successfully co-organizing the 2026 Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Tuyen Quang - Wenshan) in Tuyen Quang Province.
Furthermore, as both Tuyen Quang and Yunnan possess distinct strengths in tourism, the two sides should actively deploy joint initiatives under the umbrella of the "Vietnam - China Year of Tourism 2026-2027." Key efforts should focus on connecting travel enterprises, developing inter-regional tour routes, and co-hosting cultural weeks and art exchange festivals, while sharing best practices in sustainable tourism development.
The two sides also aim to broaden people-to-people exchanges and deepen partnerships in education, culture, healthcare, youth engagement, and human resource training. These activities form a vital foundation for strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, contributing to the stable and sustainable growth of broader Vietnam - China relations.
